It is the world’s largest developer and publisher of international standards, besides being a network of national standards institutes of
161 countries with a central secretariat in Geneva that Co ordinates the system.  Moreover it is a non-governmental organization that forms a bridge between the public and private sectors, enabling a consensus to be reached on solutions between the requirements of business and the broader needs of the society.  Some 1100 new ISO standards are published every year.
    In RVS College of Arts & Science, based on the vision, mission and quality objectives of the college a set of quality manual has been prepared with approval of ISO and distributed to all the departments.  The manual comprehends the quality Management System (QMS) of the college and the procedure on the actual process carried out for each of the criteria in implementing the QMS.  All the processes of the college both academic and Co-curricular have been documented is standard formats, which have been numbered for ease in identification and verification.
    A team of trained Quality Auditors help the conduct of Internal audits for all the academic departments.  This helps in verifying the documentation processes and in turn the audits help in completing all the processes as per the schedule.
    ISO authorized body of Auditors peruse all the records periodically and recommend for certification.  RVS College of Arts & Science has so far been certified thrice and the system is in Vogue.
