NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) as a torch bearer of quality assurance among higher education institutions, keeps the educational institutions quality conscious and alive to the contemporary changes.  It has created a better understanding of quality assurance and also has trigged quality assurance activities in the institutions of higher education.  NAAC has also facilitated for creation of data base of accredited institutions and helped regulatory and funding agencies to make decisions on various issues based on NAAC’s assessment results.  NAAC assesses and accredits institutions on the basis of the following seven criteria namely 1. Curricular aspects 2. Teaching learning and evaluation 3. Research consultancy and extension 4. Infrastructure and learning resources 5. Student support and progression 6. Organization, leadership and governance and 7. Innovative and healthy practices.
    The assessment is done through a qualified peer team and finally a suitable grade is bestowed on the institution.  The assessment, evaluation and accreditation process is repeated once every four years.  During the academic year 2001-2002 NAAC visited RVS College of Arts & Science and accredited it with 4 star status. Again NAAC revisited the college for the process of reaccreditation in the month of February 2007 and the college has presently attained B++ status.
    The Management has taken special efforts to tone up the quality build up equivalently on all the criteria outlined by NAAC.  A healthy ambiance has been created to strengthen all the parameters of NAAC by the stake holders.
