NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) as a torch bearer of quality assurance among higher education institutions, keeps the educational institutions quality conscious and alive to the contemporary changes. It has created a better understanding of quality assurance and also has trigged quality assurance activities in the institutions of higher education. NAAC has also facilitated for creation of data base of accredited institutions and helped regulatory and funding agencies to make decisions on various issues based on NAAC’s assessment results. NAAC assesses and accredits institutions on the basis of the following seven criteria namely 1. Curricular aspects 2. Teaching learning and evaluation 3. Research consultancy and extension 4. Infrastructure and learning resources 5. Student support and progression 6. Organization, leadership and governance and 7. Innovative and healthy practices. |
