True to the fact that play grounds are an integral part of educational institutions RVS College of Arts & Science has made excellent infrastructural facilities to promote and patronize games activities. Exclusive playfields exist for a plethora of games such as Foot ball, Volley ball, Basket ball, Tennis, Badminton, Cricket and Kabaddi, as these games invariably propagate team spirit and rear leadership traits.
Foot ball or Soccer: There are two separate foot ball grounds to encourage and satisfy more number of students especially foreign students having passion for this game of ‘blocking and tackling’. RVSCAS never fails to make a mark in the university and other extramural tournaments, since the students have been educated with the moral ‘Will to win is important and the will to prepare is vital’.
Volley ball: There are two volley ball courts separately for boys and girls. The play courts exhibit well defined boundary demarcations, evenly levelled floor areas and features of meticulous maintenance.
Basket ball: For both boys and girls two separate play fields have been developed to support and enthuse basket ball games activity. The basket bearing posts, fabricated elegantly have been erected according to required specifications and the floor areas have been laid up with stable and comfortable stratum.
Tennis: The tennis court has been richly renovated recently with a neatly laid up play field, sporting on either sides, broadly erected laminated barricades. A tennis coach with a ripe experience is made available to impart training to the beginners willing to learn tennis. The tennis court is also made use of for holding tennis tournaments.
Badminton: Exclusive court to play badminton games is available near the VM Hall. Apart from students several staff members also take delight in playing this game.
Cricket: A vast ground adjoining the hostel makes provision for playing cricket, the game gaining more popularity among the students now a days. Friendly matches as well as university level matches are held in this ground.
Kabaddi: This tradition bound ancient game with plenty of action is fondly encouraged by the college. The college kabaddi team has fared extremely well by winning tournaments on many occasions. Separate kabaddi play courts are available for practice to perfect the skills.
Apart from the various playfield facilities mentioned above, the play ground also accommodates tracks for athletics. This affords ample scope for athletes to tame and train themselves for encountering athletic sports.
Indoor games: The following indoor games are available.
1. Table tennis, 2. Carrom and 3. Chess. These games are accessible to students, especially hostel residents round the clock. |
