Mrs. Dr. H. Newman, M.A., Ph.D. a renowned Educationist with a ripe and rich experience of more than 60 years in the field, is the secretary for RVSCAS and RVSET.  Starting her career as Lecturer in the Geography department of Queen Mary’s College, Chennai, she became founder Principal of P.S.G.R. Krishnammal College, Coimbatore and effectively steered it for 23 years, before becoming Founder Principal of RVS College of Arts and Science and later Secretary of RVSCAS and RVS Educational Trust. 

          As a torch bearer and pathfinder of RVSET, she has immensely identified herself with the phenomenal horizontal and vertical growth of the RVS group of institutions.  Best teacher award was bestowed on her by the state government of Tamilnadu (1981).  She had been the Vice President of Indian Geographical Society for 10 years.  The text book written by her on Australia, at the behest of Tamilnadu Text Book Society, has been prescribed for UG classes.  As member of various academic bodies, Senate and Standing committee of Pachaiappas College, Kanchipuram, Vasavi College and Providence College, Secretary of Bharathiar University Colleges Management Association (1998 – 2001), Commissioner of Guides (1959 – 1963) and President of YWCA, Coimbatore (1977 – 82, 1984-87), she has gained wide recognition in the realm of higher education.  She is also an ardent lover of Music, Drawing and Embroidery. Commending her contributions to the society, Cornerstone University and Seminary of Jerusalem, Israel has fittingly awarded her a Doctorate degree (2008).  She is a revered campus character steadfastly influencing the cross section of the college by her commitments to the Vision and Mission of the institution.
